A quick scroll through Eventbrite brought us to the gem that is virtual game nights. Let’s Roam is a virtual game hosting site that allows you to set up trivia and other unique games with your friends. They’ve even set up a few events for Jackson locals to jump in on. In each event, you’ll take on five rounds of fun games that could include pictionary, charades, drinking games and more. The best part is that you can do this from the comfort of your home. You can even set up game rooms for your family to compete with other families in the neighborhood if you’re not ready to have the whole culdesac in your living room. If this sounds like your ideal night in, sign up for a virtual game night here.
R I D G E L A N D , M I S S I S S I P P I Name something that’s better than getting the girls together, drinking wine, and eating all your favorite snacks. How about doing all of that and adding custom floral arrangements and door prizes?! If that sounds like your kind of night then you need to sign up for the Galentine’s Floral Workshop with Fresh Cut of Jackson and Gifts by KPEP. The duo is getting the girls together on February 9th at 6pm. That night Fresh Cut will walk you through their process of creating their signature (and flawless) arrangements while you sip on some primo beverages and snack on some classics. You’ll walk away with your own arrangement and maybe a little something extra. You’re sold, we know! Seats are limited. So text the group chat, then call KPEP to reserve your spot.

J A C K S O N , M I S S I S S I P P I January has been one wild month, but the highlight for our fair state flies high above any craziness. Our new state flag was officially adopted on January 11th, 2021 by Governor Tate Reeves. After a long process of design submissions, voting, then voting again, the new "In God We Trust" state flag, featuring a magnolia flower and stars, was approved by 73% of Mississippi voters. "In Mississippi, there has been a prominent roadblock to unity. When many look at our former flag, they just saw a symbol of the state and heritage they loved. But many felt dismissed because of that flag. That is not a firm foundation for our state," Reeves shared moments before ratifying the new pennant. "Today, we turn the page. We commit our former flag to history, and we commit ourselves to the business of the future. It is one small effort to unify, but it is done in good faith." What a page turn for our beloved Mississippi! We are a state comprised of artists, educators, politicians, culinary geniuses, and so much more. And as we continue to take steps of unity, only time will tell of greatness that is to come. Mississippi, we love you.
