From Our Family To Yours The Faulkner, set to become Jackson's most sought-after address for weddings, special events and downtown office space, officially opened its doors in June 2019. Sarah and Buddy Faulkner pulled together one of the most unique and special Friends & Family reveal that we've ever seen! "After pouring our hearts into this project for two years, it was so special to be able to enjoy the very first celebration at The Faulkner with our closest family and friends who helped support and encourage us through this process. As a family owned business, it only made sense to kick things off with those we love the most," smiles Sarah. From the personalized and custom stationery to the thoughtfully planned dessert menu, the Faulkner's made sure the evening was unforgettable. There were family members who flew in from all over to celebrate with the Faulkners. Upon arrival, each guest enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop overlooking downtown Jackson before enjoying dinner on the first floor with surprise guest, ELVIS. "He was the highlight entertainment and surprised everyone, including my parents," laughed Sarah. Once everyone was seated for dinner, Buddy stood up to give a toast and blessed the food, a tradition that he loves to lead. After dinner, guests went up to the fifth floor for desserts, the band and dancing. The dessert menu reflected a list of Buddy's favorites, all a surprise to him. At the end of the night, every guest went home with customized kits for either mimosas or bloody marys. I N S P I R I N G D E T A I L S1) The signature cocktail was the Queen Bee, named after Sarah. As the oldest of four and only girl, her family often lovingly refers to her as the Queen Bee. "It was a huge hit. We had guests reaching out to us all summer for the recipe, too!" says Sarah. 2) Entertainment was a key part of the evening with a blues musician during cocktail hour and a twelve piece band for dancing. Hey friends! We hope that you're all doing well! Today, we wanted to bring some awareness to something that Mississippi will continue to need throughout this pandemic and that's blood donations. If you are well and able, please consider researching and making an appointment with Mississippi Blood Services to donate blood. This is posted on their Instagram page: "Donating blood is considered an essential task under a "Shelter in Place" order. The need for blood is a crucial element in many aspects of healthcare, from treating chronic and catastrophic illnesses to trauma patients, to helping surgery patients and premature infants. Donating blood is safe and Mississippi Blood Services is taking every precaution recommended by the FDA and CDC to keep donors and staff as safe as possible. We ask that you continue to use our free mobile app, website or social media to find blood drives near you!"
