3 Cold Truths of Cryotherapy {Insider Inspiration}

4/9/2018

Fitness trends have been sweeping the nation left and right from juice cleanses to crossfit.  The coolest craze? Cryotherapy. Cryotherapy uses extremely cold temperatures to restore and reinvigorate the body.  The cold treatment exposes the body to temperatures colder than negative 200 degrees F for two to four minutes and is said to have miraculous results.  “It really is an amazing and transformative process,” said Tim Brown, owner of Cryospa of Jackson. The cryo expert then helped debunk three myths that typically trail cryotherapy.

MYTH: Cryotherapy is only for muscle recovery.
TRUTH: While trainers and athletes swear by cryotherapy for its muscle therapy properties, the treatment also boosts metabolism, increases endorphins, and flushes toxins out of the skin and muscles.  “We have a lot of people who come in for that extra push with their work out,” Brown explains. “Cryo provides that boost your metabolism needs to burn extra calories.”

MYTH: Cryotherapy doesn’t work on everyone.
TRUTH: Cryo may not be for each person who tries it, but the process is widely applicable to most people.  It can especially benefit athletes and among others, fibromyalgia patients. “We have people of all ages and backgrounds who seek treatment [at CryoSpa of Jackson] whether it’s for weight loss, skin perfection, or healing.”  Cryotherapy has even been known to treat those with depression by increasing blood flow and releasing endorphins. That hormonal boost can cause a sense of euphoria after stepping out of a cold chamber.

MYTH: Cryotherapy isn’t safe.
TRUTH: Yes, too much of a good thing can be problematic, but proper safety procedures and properly tested machinery ensure patients receive the very best treatment.  “Safety is number one,” Brown encourages,”we want this process to be as enjoyable and effective as possible.”

Whole body cryotherapy can prove to be a beneficial experience, whether it is used for pain relief, skin enhancement, or weight loss.  If you’re looking to supplement the work you’re already putting in, or simply interested in finding a new way to relax and unwind, cryo is the coolest thing you’ll find.

Keeping Room for Spring by Erik Kegler Interiors {Insider Inspiration}

With their daughters away at college, Jeff and Debbie Good were ready to update their home. "Jeff and Debbie are empty nesters now, and they wanted to do some cosmetic renovations to reflect that," says Erik Kegler of Erik Kegler Interiors. The Goods had beautiful antique furniture in their home already, so Kegler was able to incorporate it, but give it a fresh look. "There was a beautiful antique couch the Goods had that we knew we wanted to use, so we recovered it with a dragon print fabric and that was the inspiration for the rest of the room."

"Fortunately, Jeff and Debbie love color and are not afraid to use it, so we incorporated a lot of color throughout the house," smiles Kegler. The end result reflects this newest change in their lives and gives a fresh look to an already beautiful house."

Thoughts on Good Friday by Heath Ferguson {Life}

3/30/2018

Good Friday is the day of Holy Week when our gaze lowers from the heavens down to the cross.  The cross is where we find reconciliation.  The cross is where Christ’s blood was made available to us.  If we are to properly spring forth this Sunday in celebration, it will be from our knees as we worship first, the Savior Who suffered.  And we remember honestly and humbly why He suffered. Knowing the full expression of God’s love for us comes first from the realization that we needed to be saved.
Picture
 Then Sunday comes as it should, and our Easter can be truly celebrated as we know Who loves us and how much He loves us.  We are transformed and made new as God made His love available to us in the Christ.  We are new and can stand to celebrate a Risen Savior on Easter because He gave of himself on Friday.  What a beautiful and heartbreaking truth it is to know how amazing God’s grace is for us, and how much He was willing to endure for us.  But He did.  And He rose because the grave could not hold Him.  And now He is ours and we are His.
Matthew 28:6a
 6 He is not here, for He has risen

God bless you and yours on this wonderful Easter weekend.
