Today, I wanted to share with everyone about a national organization that does amazing work each year and should be recognized every moth, especially February. I am talking about the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association has been providing information and resources on heart health for 100 years now and continues to do so. Today, the AHA is the largest non-profit funding source for research of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease.
Not only does the AHA provide resources and research on heart health, but they also have an endless number of opportunities for individuals to become involved and volunteer in their local communities. If you head on over to https://www.heart.org/en/affiliates/mississippi, you can keep up with local events and opportunities to become involved right here in Mississippi.
One event that will be taking place locally and nationally is National Wear Red Day, which will be tomorrow February 2nd, as it is the first Friday of the month. By wearing red, you are showing your support and efforts to spread awareness on heart disease, prevention, and early detection, especially among women.
If you are interested in becoming involved with the American Heart Association, you can head on over to their website to search for events local to you. If you are also interested in learning more about heart health or want to take precautions yourself, the AHA website also provides helpful knowledge and tips on how to do so. Living a healthy lifestyle is extremely important for heart health and is something that should not be ignored. Get Inspired Y’all encourages everyone to wear red tomorrow and to check out the American Heart Association because it is never too late to put your health first!
