Chloe and Gray's love story is one of the best we've heard. Both of their families play PickleBall and they met on the courts when their families played each other Easter Day. The rest is history, as they say. For their wedding, Chloe's favorite part was seeing all of the planning coming together. "The flowers, ice sculptures and other details blew me away even though I picked everything out," laughs Chloe. "Another favorite part was the dancing. My dad and I had a surprise dance planned and all of our friends and family danced so hard. The night ended with Gray and my dad dancing on the bar!" You've heard about it and maybe you've even filled it out, but do you know what the census does and why it's a thing?! We're going to lay out the basics here for you to see how important it is for Mississippi.
What is the census? It's a tool used to count every person living in the United States. It's updated every 10 years. Why does the census matter? Simply put, it determines the amount of funding (billions of dollars) that states get to distribute throughout the communities for things such as schools, roads, clinics, affordable housing, and much much more. It also determines the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives! Am I required to fill it out? Yes. It is required by law. How do I fill it out? Go to 2020census.gov and respond there. (It can also be filled out via phone and mail.) Resources to read more about the Census: https://mississippitoday.org/2020-census-guide/ and https://2020census.gov/. Let's all do our part! Currently, Mississippi is behind the national average on Census responses. We can't think of a better way to celebrate this day! Right now, every single dollar that you donate to Extra Table is being matched by Corner Market and the Roberts family (up to $20,000). What that means is that TODAY your one dollar donation can now provide FOUR meals instead of two! This is money that's going right back into feeding our neighbors and friends here in Mississippi. With the pandemic that the world is facing right now, our food pantries need our help! We can make a difference and see the reach of our donation go further! To donate, go to ExtraTable.org. When you donate to #GivingTuesdayNOW tag @extratable so that they can post your sunnie pictures!
