Charlie Berry has become such an inspiration for us. This precious 4 year old is fighting the fight of his life, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Most diagnoses are discovered when a child is over the age of two. Charlie's was detected at an almost unheard of age of 10 months. After several tests, it was determined that this sweet child had DMS. This disease predominately affects males. By the age of 12, an individual will require wheelchair assistance and eventually cardiovascular care. Charlie is being treated by the best possible care, by one of the top 3 centers worldwide, located in Cincinnati. This life giving treatment comes with a steep and ongoing cost. Bill Latham, owner of EatHere Brands, which includes Babalu, heard about the Berry family and their story touched his heart. To help alleviate these costs, Charlie, along with Chef David Ferris and the Babalu kitchen staff, has created his own taco for Babalu, the “Charlie taco!” The proceeds from this taco will go toward his family and his ongoing treatment!
