Fourth of July Events

Good morning and happy Thursday y’all! Today I wanted to inspire y’all by sharing all the fun and family friendly events that will be going on this weekend! The Fourth of July is just five days away, so it is time to get ready and celebrate our country!
 
One Fourth of July celebration that is being held on Saturday the 1st is The Barnett Reservoir Foundation’s 12th annual Independence Day firework show! There will be two locations this year: Old Trace Park in Ridgeland and Bobby Cleveland  Park at Lakeshore. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with entertainment starting at 6 p.m. Brian Smith and Scott Strickland will be playing at the Old Trace Parkway and Hunter Gibson along with Rick Moreira will be at Lakeshore Park. The firework show will then begin for both parks will begin at 9:00 p.m., making it the perfect ending to the event. Dogs are allowed and there will be a kid’s zone for those with young children. Watching the sunset and fireworks on the water sounds like the perfect summer night to celebrate the Fourth of July!
 
Madison will also be hosting their own Fourth of July extravaganza. The city will be hosting an event on Monday July 3rd, from 5:00 p.m. until around 9:00 p.m. after the firework show. It will be held at Liberty Park which is located at 100 Liberty Park Drive in Madison. The gates will open at 4:00 p.m. and the celebration will commence at 5:00 p.m. The city is asking that those are attend bring their own chairs and blankets to sit on. There will be live music starting at 6:00 p.m. along with food trucks, which will be begin serving at 5:00 p.m. The mayor will speak around 7:15 p.m. followed by the playing of the National Anthem. At the end of the night there will be a firework show that you will not want to miss out on. This is the perfect family friendly event to start of the holiday!
 
There are several more firework shows being held between Saturday the 1st and Tuesday the 4th that are all family friendly. This weekend is jammed-packed with live entertainment, food trucks, and fireworks shows for all ages! It truly is amazing seeing everyone come together to with such respect and to celebrate our country!
