His Heart

​Happy Tuesday y’all! This week I wanted to share with everyone about an amazing organization that gives back directly to the Jackson community! In today’s blog, we will be discussing all about His Heart!
 
His Heart Foundation is an inner-city ministry open to children, the youth, and families in the West Park neighborhoods of Jackson. His heart is the community Calvary Baptist Church located at 1300 West Capitol Street. The foundation began in 1988 with prayer-walks throughout the streets of West Jackson. This allowed for people who resides in the area to open up about the things that they needed. It was apparent that the biggest need was a ministry for the youth! From that point on, Bible clubs were created bringing games, Christian music, and the Word of God into the homes of the inner city.
 
In 2002, His Heart became a non-profit organization that was supported by individuals within the community. His Heart is the home to several ministries within the walls of one church but has also stepped out of those walls to help give back to the community.
 
The non-profit organization offers weekly programs like Monday night Bible Clubs along with Wednesday and Sunday activities. They also offer tutoring to those who are in need of some extra hep which is also a way for volunteers to become involved. Summer programs are also offered which include Vacation bible School, musical and art camps, elementary and youth camps, and leadership conferences. Everything that His Heart has to offer for Jackson are such amazing opportunities that can help bring the community together as one.
 
There are countless ways for anyone within the community to become involved. One way to get involved is to pray. His Heart asks that you pray for the kids, families, schools, leaders, and teachers within the community. His Heart is a faith-based organization so this first step is very important to them. Another way to get involved is to volunteer. His Heart is always looking for volunteers for the daily, weekly, and annual events and programs. Whether you want to volunteer as a Bible Club leader or help tutor the kids, they are always accepting and welcoming to anyone to help give back to the community. His Heart also accepts donations that go directly back to the program for supplies and other funding.
 
His Heart is such an outstanding non-profit organization that strives to better the community for not only the children but their families as well.
