We all know Newk’s Eatery as one of our favorite go-to’s for sandwiches, soups, and salads. But did you know that the restaurant also has its own philanthropy? Newk’s Cares was created to increase awareness and provide education about ovarian cancer. This teal movement is one that is very near and dear to the heart of the restaurant chain. After experiencing her own journey with the disease, Lori Newcomb committed herself to the cause. And Newk’s Cares was born.
 | Mrs. Newcomb’s goal for Newk’s Cares was to improve the rate of early diagnosis by helping fund research and create greater awareness about the early symptoms of ovarian cancer. She joined OCRA’s governing Board of Directors in 2015. While Lori lost her physical battle to ovarian cancer in February of 2019, her fight goes on. The people behind Newk’s Cares are continuing her mission to help all women and all future women affected by the disease. |
Newk’s Eatery has committed to supporting ovarian cancer research and awareness. With restaurants across the south, they have garnered support from each community.
