With high school graduation right around the corner, we wanted to share this darling graduation party with y'all! We loved how the Wimbledon theme was incorporated into every element of the celebration! We also think this would make an awesome birthday party too! This Graduation party was game, set, match for tennis player and high school senior Avery Douglass! “I have played tennis since I was 11, so a Wimbledon-themed Graduation party was the perfect choice,” says Avery. Since her high school practices tennis at Ridgeland Tennis Center, it was the ideal location to have fun and enjoy a little tennis before graduation! By using the colors of Wimbledon, the tennis center was transformed into a fun, outdoor party location compete with all things tennis. There were touches of tennis from the decor all the way down to the food! “I loved the chocolate tennis racquets because they were a complete surprise,” smiles Avery. “It was fun to see all of my friends enjoy a fun afternoon on the tennis courts and spend time together before we graduated.” Event Planner: Kendall Poole Event Planning | Catering & Florals : Fresh Cut Catering & Floral |
Venue: Ridgeland Tennis Center | Photography: Ellen Rodgers | Cookies: Campbell's Bakery Imagine a world where bank customers have to take care of all their banking needs between the hours of 8 a.m and 5 p.m. This world is hard to imagine, because banks have implemented a wide variety of products and services to make the customer experience much more convenient.
In fact, data gathered from the Pew Research Center and Federal Reserve show 81% of those who manage their household's finances banked online at least once in the last year. The shift is due in large part to the current renaissance in consumer finance technology combined with an increasing demand from customers to do banking on their own terms. But surpassingly, some banks are slow to adopt to full online banking services for their customers, or they make their online banking portals difficult to use. "Banking should be done at the client's convenience and not subject to certain hours, locations, or limited product offerings," said Bill Barron, central Mississippi president at Renasant Bank. "The shift to digital represents a new mentality from being a 'local' branch to a part of a digital marketplace-- impartial to physical location. The customer journey changes dramatically when convenience is defined by the simplicity of design and the ability to open and manage accounts online or with a mobile device." Renasant Bank offers a full suite of convenience banking technology, from standard services like mobile check deposit and online bill pay to an easy-to-use mobile app and Apple Pay. With the Renasant Bank app, customers can check their balances, transfer money between accounts, find nearby branches and ATMs and deposit checks. "A full 90% of millennials acknowledge that they use digital banking channels far more often than branches," Barron said. Additionally, online banking customers can pay loans, set up account alerts to manage cash, pay bills and monitor cleared checks. Renasant customers may also request to receive account balances and recent transaction history via text message. Convenience banking technology is just one of the many ways the staff at Renasant Bank tries to better understand their customers while saving them valuable time and energy. "From our online banking platform to our treasury management suite of products or our state-of-the-art P2P application, the interfaces focus on simplicity of design while maintaining robust product features," Barron said. "All of this to achieve one simple goal--- to make our customers' lives easier." Article written by J.B Clark This weekend many are making the trip to Oxford, Mississippi to celebrate the Double Decker Arts Festival. Double Decker has become a tradition for many over the past twenty three years. Double Decker is a two day festival that celebrates music, art, and food all in the middle of Oxford’s famous Courthouse Square. Double Decker kicks off tonight with a live broadcast from Thacker Mountain Radio. The festival continues tomorrow with a day long celebration. Close to two hundred food and art vendors will be set up around Courthouse Square. Both local and touring musicians will take the stage all day Saturday as well to delight crowds of an expected 60,000 people! Mitchell Walters, based in Birmingham, Alabama is excited about returning to Oxford to participate in Double Decker, she said, “This is my first year to participate, and I’m thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful festival. As a student at Ole Miss, I never dreamed I would have my own booth at Double Decker one day. I’m looking forward to seeing friends and being back in my favorite Mississippi town!” Mitchell will be in booth 85 on Saturday, right in front of City Grocery if you want to stop by and meet her! Mississippi artist Christie Farese adds, “Participating in Double Decker is something I look forward to all year long! The Oxford Square comes alive with music, art and food - there is literally something for everyone. What I love most about Double Decker is seeing old friends and meeting new art collectors. Last year was my first year to exhibit, and people were in my booth wanting to buy art at 8:45 (the festival doesn't open until 10:00 a.m.)! I feel honored to be able to share my art with those who want to purchase it, and also those who just want to stop and look and chat for awhile. Double Decker seems to get bigger and better every year, and this Saturday looks to be a beautiful spring day and the best one yet!” Christie is in booth number 84 near Southside Gallery if you want to check out her work in person! If you can’t make it up to Oxford tomorrow to enjoy the festival this year, make sure to keep it on your radar for next year! Double Decker is one of our favorite festivals and is the perfect place to mingle with friends, find some new artwork, and enjoy a beautiful spring day in one of Mississippi’s most charming towns. After starting this position, my associate and I were featured on the radio, and Levi (my now husband) heard me on the radio and apparently thought I sounded cute. After friending me on Facebook, Levi and I messaged each other for a few months prior to me giving him my phone number. And....after our first date, we spent as much time as possible together and knew pretty early on that this was it for both of us... we knew had found "the one." Levi proposed to me at my vet clinic via a radiograph with a metallic ring and sign that he made saying "Marry Me?" I was completely surprised, and...obviously said YES! After I got home from work that night, I also realized that not only had Levi asked my dad for my hand in marriage, but he had also asked my very special dog that I grew up with (my 15 year old dog named Angel). He had pictures made of him, with my engagement ring, asking her. And, of course, she approved. Levi and I now are looking to relocate to Mississippi (after residing in Arkansas). {What was the main inspiration for your wedding?} My main inspiration for wedding planning was my love (and my husband's love) for a rustic, simple, classic feel. We both LOVE the outdoors and desired an outdoor wedding, and McClain Lodge in Brandon, Mississippi was the perfect location for our rustic, country wedding theme. It just fit both our personalities perfectly. We loved the area down by the Oaks, and even though it rained on our wedding day, we still opted to get married in front of the beautiful fireplace under the arbor. The reception hall was perfect as well. With a very rustic, country, yet elegant feel, it fit Levi and my desires to a tee. The lighting in the reception hall just further added to the ambiance. Everything truly was perfect! {What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?} That is a difficult question! My husband was dead set on NOT seeing me AT ALL the day of the wedding (or until I walked down the aisle). The wedding wasn't until 5... and for me and Levi, not seeing each for that amount of time was extremely challenging. So... with that in mind, my favorite part of the wedding was either getting to hold his hand around the corner from me (without seeing him) during some pre-wedding photos of us, OR getting to see him waiting for me at the end of the aisle at the wedding.... OR dancing our first dance together. Like I said... it is difficult to pick between those three things. Haha. {What are some of your favorite details from your big day?} My favorite details included the flowers (all flowers were white daisies with yellow centers), the pictures of my dog Angel with Levi asking her permission to marry me, and probably just the scenery at McClain Lodge. As far as what made them each so special... I just have always loved daisies and my husband and I love the outdoors.. The photos of Angel are incredibly special. Levi knew that she was the biggest part of my life for the last 15 years, and before she passed away, he made sure to ask her permission to marry me. Angel approved of Levi from day 1... and honestly, she was a tough critic...others in the past did not pass her inspection. But, Angel knew me best and knew when there was someone who was genuine and someone who could love me like she did...only then did she approve. {How did you pick your photographer?} As I searched for the right photographer and came across Jeff Chao's photos, they struck me as just so authentic and real. There was no special effect added, he utilized natural lighting, and he captured moments and emotions so well...that was why I wanted to use him. From the very beginning, Jeff was phenomenal to work with. He put Levi and I at ease very quickly (which I was the one needed to be put at ease the most). It's hard to describe, but Jeff just captured Levi and my love and personalities perfectly. Our type of relationship and love can easily be seen in the photos he took. Jeff is just an easy-going, down to earth guy that has amazing photography skills and expertise! {Tell us a bit about your flowers!} I told the florist (Mrs. Judy Bufkin) that I absolutely LOVED white daisies and wanted them EVERYWHERE. And.. that is exactly what she did, and it looked beautiful. My bouquet was a mixture of greenery and white daisies (to make the daisies stand out more) and each groomsman and bridesmaid had daisy flowers incorporated in their boutonnieres and bouquets. All center pieces were also daisies in the reception hall. {What was your favorite part of the wedding planning process?} My favorite part of the wedding planning process was honestly a mixture of everything. I just was excited to make our day as special as possible with special touches that would best represent Levi and myself (such as breakfast food for dinner, daisies for flowers, rustic setting, etc.) Photographer: Jeff Chao- Chao Photography | Dress: Elle James Bridal |Florist: Judy Bufkin
