When it comes to planning your wedding or event, there are so many details to consider. One of the most important, but often overlooked factors of your event is the lighting. You can spend and arm and a leg on beautiful flowers, food, and your cake but if your venue is not lit optimally, none of your guests will be able to appreciate those other elements of your celebration! Event lighting is that little extra something that will allow everything else to shine at your event. Event lighting is the hidden gem that turns beautiful events into stunning ones by adding that extra touch of ambience to any occasion. Davaine Lighting, Mississippi's premier event lighting company, flexes their technical prowess in this seasonal display. Every year, the museum hosts an adults-only event called Ignite the Night. Keep reading to get a glimpse of Ignite the Night 2017, and learn about the mission of the Mississippi Children's Museum! “Mind the gap, cross the pond, and celebrate the life of London-town at Mississippi Children’s Museum (MCM) for Ignite the Night: London Calling.” This incredibly fun adults-only fundraiser, presented by BankPlus and MCM Partners, supported this extraordinary museum in its efforts to improve literacy and learning across the state of Mississippi. For one evening every year, MCM invites guests to enjoy the magical museum without their children. Chellese Hall, MCM Community Relations Manager, smiles, “Each gallery comes to life with festive food, mesmerizing music, and amusing activities like photo booths with quirky costumes, mysterious guests, and creative cocktails. Hosted by MCM Partners, a group of volunteers and donors who support the museum, this ‘snappy casual’ affair is not your typical party. It is imaginative, entertaining and most importantly, fun!” The 2017 bash proved to be quite brilliant! Party goers boogied to the beats of their favorite British music, noshed on fish and chips, and mingled with some of London’s most colorful characters. Hall says, “Guests were able to snap selfies with Her Majesty in front of the London Eye, but only if they could make it through the fog and past the palace guards, of course!”
Alicen Blanchard adds, “The money earned from Ignite the Night will help support MCM’s educational initiatives, make up the gap between the admission price and the actual cost of a visit per person, as well as help children who cannot afford to visit the museum be able to come and play and learn in and innovative learning space that taps their curiosity and creativity.” In 1994, MCM was created from the urgent need to improve the literacy, health and well-being of Mississippi’s precious little ones. Mississippi is home to nearly three million people with a third of our population living in poverty. Our Children deserve a bright future. Let’s support MCM in their mission to provide exciting experiences that ignite a thirst for discovery, knowledge and learning in all children! Our fate is determined before our first birthday even arrives. We have been chosen to be the women of the world. We are offered the sacred gift to develop and grow into the mothers and grandmothers of the future. As we continue to blossom into womanhood, our bodies continue to change as we pass through the various phases of our life. First, we meet puberty; evolving into young ladies. Relationships and marriage follow, offering us the opportunity to explore the beauty of intimacy. We begin to discover the secrets of our bodies. For some, the gift of childbearing brings even further changes to our bodies that can result in change in appearance or discomfort with intercourse. There are various medical conditions that can result in early hysterectomy or removal of the ovaries leading to early surgical menopause. Menopause can also occur naturally or after cancer treatment. Menopause leaves us with hormonal changes that can cause further changes to our bodies. Deficiency in hormones can lead to mood swings, hot flashes, painful intercourse, bladder issues or decreased libido. These symptoms can lead to difficulties in intimate relationships. Many women have suffered with these symptoms, without awareness of treatment options. The exciting news is that there are things that can be done to improve these transitional phases of life. As a Women's Healthcare provider, I have learned how important these things are to our overall quality of life. Each woman has a unique experience through the journey of life. It is important that we are all offered the opportunity to understand what non-hormonal and hormonal treatment options are available to improve our transition throughout our lives. We are so fortunate that there are new technologies that can treat all women, even those whoa re not candidates for hormone replacement therapy. Once upon a time, these options did not exist and women were told to deal with pains and discomforts the best they can on their own. Today, we have the ability to customize treatment to best suit each individual woman's needs.
Presented by Fresh Ink and in conjunction with the second year of Mississippi Mercantile, wedding industry leaders are gathered ready to take on your most difficult questions. We got the chance to chat with Lydia from Fresh Ink about the event in detail! {What do you hope attendees and viewers will get out of this event?} We want them to leave knowing that when it comes to wedding planning, Mississippi is full of businesses that work hard to serve them by being willing to walk them through the process and provide helpful insight into making their dream wedding a reality. {What inspired y'all to put together this event?} This event is was inspired by the idea that a casual conversation between professionals who specialize in the wedding industry was a good way of taking away formalities and showing our clients that wedding planning doesn't have to be stressful. People who come to the event can see these wedding experts as real people who care deeply about what they do and who they are working for. {What's the story behind this event?}
While there has never been an "Ask the Experts" event in the past, it 's a large scale version of monthly round-table discussions hosted by Fresh Ink that started in January of this year. We are SO excited to be making our debut at MS Mercantile and to be introducing these 10 experts and their businesses in such a fun and interactive way. {How did y'all select the experts?} We chose Mississippi based business owners who have worked hard in the wedding industry and have good stories and experience to share with others. Many of the experts are people we have worked with and have personally witnessed how much passion they have for their work and their clients. {What are you looking forward to most about this event?} We are looking forward to the people we will get to meet! There's nothing we love more than sitting down and talking to people because that enables us to make what we do so much more personal and rewarding. Every panelist is known for the way they cater to each client as the unique person that they are and making sure we get the time to meet them and answer their questions is how we make that happen. The event will be streamed on Instagram live on Fresh Ink's Instagram (@freshinkstyle) Make sure to check it out if you can! |
