When it comes to planning your wedding or event, there are so many details to consider. One of the most important, but often overlooked factors of your event is the lighting. You can spend and arm and a leg on beautiful flowers, food, and your cake but if your venue is not lit optimally, none of your guests will be able to appreciate those other elements of your celebration! Event lighting is that little extra something that will allow everything else to shine at your event.

Guests will begin the evening with reception appetizers of Cornmeal Blini with Caviar, Duck Ham, Venison Rillettes and Panzanella en Brochette paired with Champagne. Following Kathryn’s performance, guests will enjoy Corn and Crab Bisque with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat. Then, Brown Derby-style Cobb Salad with Chopped Greens, Avocado and Roquefort will be served. The salad course is followed by Turban of Speckled Trout with Lobster Stuffing and Nantua Sauce. The meat course will be Kathryn’s Stuffed Quail accompanied by Dirty Rice Stuffing and Hunter’s Sauce. For dessert, guests will celebrate Crosby’s White Christmas, a decadent interpretation of Bing’s classic recording, which was composed in 1942 by Irving Berlin. The wine dinner is $125 per person, including the performance by Kathryn Crosby, excluding tax and gratuity. 

Kathryn’s encore luncheon menu on May 19 begins with a Champagne reception. The salad course features The Academy Room Crab Louie Salad with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Rémoulade Sauce, Avocado, Radish, Roasted Red Peppers and Egg. Red Fish with Lemon Beurre Blanc, Crawfish Tails and Rice Grits will follow. For the dessert finalé guests will enjoy a taste of Old Hollywood with Seafood R’evolution’s rendition of Musso & Frank’s Caramel Custard. Red or white wine complements the courses. Mrs. Crosby will have copies of her book, My Last Years with Bing, and CD’s available for purchase. Tickets are $50 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.

With school almost out for summer, we wanted to spotlight one of our favorite summer spots for the whole family, the Mississippi Children's' Museum! Our fate is determined before our first birthday even arrives. We have been chosen to be the women of the world. We are offered the sacred gift to develop and grow into the mothers and grandmothers of the future. As we continue to blossom into womanhood, our bodies continue to change as we pass through the various phases of our life. 

First, we meet puberty; evolving into young ladies. Relationships and marriage follow, offering us the opportunity to explore the beauty of intimacy. We begin to discover the secrets of our bodies. For some, the gift of childbearing brings even further changes to our bodies that can result in change in appearance or discomfort with intercourse. 

There are various medical conditions that can result in early hysterectomy or removal of the ovaries leading to early surgical menopause. Menopause can also occur naturally or after cancer treatment. Menopause leaves us with hormonal changes that can cause further changes to our bodies. Deficiency in hormones can lead to mood swings, hot flashes, painful intercourse, bladder issues or decreased libido. These symptoms can lead to difficulties in intimate relationships. Many women have suffered with these symptoms, without awareness of treatment options. 

The exciting news is that there are things that can be done to improve these transitional phases of life. As a Women's Healthcare provider, I have learned how important these things are to our overall quality of life. Each woman has a unique experience through the journey of life. It is important that we are all offered the opportunity to understand what non-hormonal and hormonal treatment options are available to improve our transition throughout our lives. 

We are so fortunate that there are new technologies that can treat all women, even those whoa re not candidates for hormone replacement therapy. Once upon a time, these options did not exist and women were told to deal with pains and discomforts the best they can on their own. Today, we have the ability to customize treatment to best suit each individual woman's needs. 

{What's the story behind this event?}
While there has never been an "Ask the Experts" event in the past, it 's a large scale version of monthly round-table discussions hosted by Fresh Ink that started in January of this year. We are SO excited to be making our debut at MS Mercantile and to be introducing these 10 experts and their businesses in such a fun and interactive way.

{How did y'all select the experts?}
We chose Mississippi based business owners who have worked hard in the wedding industry and have good stories and experience to share with others. Many of the experts are people we have worked with and have personally witnessed how much passion they have for their work and their clients.

{What are you looking forward to most about this event?}
We are looking forward to the people we will get to meet! There's nothing we love more than sitting down and talking to people because that enables us to make what we do so much more personal and rewarding. Every panelist is known for the way they cater to each client as the unique person that they are and making sure we get the time to meet them and answer their questions is how we make that happen.
